Collection Hubert Dupond

Hubert Dupond or in full Hubert Georges Désiré Dupond was a Belgian artist and collector. He was born in Antwerp in 1901 and died in Brussels in 1981. He was a painter, advertising designer and collector of drawings and prints. Around the age of sixty, he decided to spend the time that remained in his life on art. In 1965 and 1969, he exhibited drawings whose precision and technical perfection were reminiscent of the engraving he loved all his life, depicting the animals he was allowed to study in the small paternal museum, restored in an atmosphere inspired by the Flemish fantastic and realistic framework. The print room of the Royal Library of Belgium in Brussels holds a large collection of works by the artist. He also amassed a collection consisting of 5,000 to 6,000 old prints, an important library of engraving and iconography, and nearly 3,000 drawings, some old, but most from the 19th century. This collector's mark, affixed to the front or back, is blue, blue-greenish in color. (http://www.marquesdecollections.fr/)
