Farasyn Edgard

Edgard Farasyn (Antwerp 1858-1938 ) was a Belgian painter, watercolourist, and engraver. He studied at the academy in Antwerp. He initially painted domestic scenes and scenes in the open air where he found his inspiration in the old part of Antwerp, the fish market, the port, the fishermen, dockworkers and their animals. Realistic design. He was a co-founder of the group “De 8” in 1891 and was a member of the art group “Wees u zelf”. He was a teacher at the academy in Antwerp. His works can be found in the museums of Antwerp, Brussels and Kortrijk. Mentioned in the Belgian art books. (PIRON)
