De Vis Etienne

Etienne De Vis (Opwijk 1949 - ) Painter, draftsman, and graphic artist. Trained at the Academies in Aalst and Dendermonde, at the RHoK in Brussels, and at the Higher State School for Visual Arts in Anderlecht. Finds the subjects for his works in the things and people around him. Powerful, impulsive, gestural style. Became a teacher at the Portaelschool in Vilvoorde. Mentioned in BAS II and Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists. (Piron)
