Vansevenant - Salas Joanne

Joanne Vansevenant - Salas (Ostend, 1941–Anderlecht, 2012) · Watercolorist, painter on fabrics, draughtswoman, graphic artist (screen print), sculptor. Born in Ostend. Trained at the Academy in Ostend, subsequently in Brussels, where she worked, among other places, in the sculpture studio of R. Monteyne at the Academy of Anderlecht. From the press: ‘After creating an imaginary plant world in her works bathed in an alienating atmosphere, she now creates visionary garden scenes with lush and enigmatic (exotic) plant growth that brings her close to a smoothly winding abstraction.’ (1992) Participated in the Parcours d’Artistes in Saint-Gilles/Brussels in 1992, among others.
