Bernier Michel

Michel Bernier was a Belgian artist, born in Angre in 1888 and who died in 1942. He was an engraver and painter. As the youngest brother of Charles Bernier, he created landscapes and views from the Ardennes and the valley of the Honnelle near Angre, his native region. He exhibited with the Circle Le Bon Vouloir in Mons in 1919, in the Spectacles gallery in Brussels in 1927. In 1925 he collaborated, together with Jos Albert, Kurt Peiser, etc., on the book 'Uccle au temps jadis'. , an album of etchings of 'Vieux sites d'Uccle' published by the artists collective Uccle Center d'Art. A series of etchings by him (faces of Chiny and Vianden) was auctioned by the G. Giroux gallery in Brussels in 1950. He is listed in BAS I, II and Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists.
