Averhals Georges

Georges Averhals was a Belgian artist born in Schelle in 1906 and died in Geel in 1975. He was a graphic artist and painter. He followed his education at the Higher Institute in Antwerp under the direction of Fl. De Cuyper, F. Gogo, L. Wynants, L. Peeters, J. De Bruycker and W. Vaes. As a painter he preferred landscapes and still lifes, among other things. He worked as an engraver for the National Bank of Belgium. He was co-founder and in 1936-1937 director of the Academy in Boom. (PIRON)
