Jacques Mathy is a Belgian artist who was born in 1933 in Sint-Gillis/Brussels. He was a painter. Education at the Academy in Brussels under G. De Vlamynck, J. Crunelle, J. Ransy, P. Frognier, at ter Kameren under J. Minne. Has a studio in the Rood Klooster in Auderghem, member of the Circle Alfred Bastien. Realized landscapes with figures, interiors, city and village views. Stylized design, clean lines, sensitive, poetic touch. Price G.E. Lebon in the cultural center of Auderghem in 1971. Exhibitions at the Saint James Gallery in Knokke in 1969, in the La Chaumière art center in Anderlecht in 1974, in the De Kroon Hall in Oudenaarde in 1974, in the cultural center in Uccle in 1976 , in the Galver Gallery in Ghent in 1978, with Les Arts en Europe in Brussels in 1979, in the gallery 't Leeghoek in Wannegem in 1988, in the Christiane Cloots gallery in Brussels in 1991 and 1994.
