Leemans Charles Jean
Charles Jean Leemans was a Belgian artist who was born around 1880 in Ghent (according to Piron 1900) and who died in Nazareth in 1982. He was a painter and draftsman. Artistic basic training at the Academy in Ghent, but subsequently developed self-taught. Was a drawing teacher in various vocational schools in Ghent. His inspiration was mainly found on the coast (Ostend), where he could indulge in his seascapes with low horizon line and the play of light and shadow in the impressive masses of clouds and sunsets.
