Deca Emiel

Emiel Deca was a Belgian artist who was born in Aarschot in 1920 and died there in 1980. He was a painter and draftsman. Education at the Rijksnormaalschool in Lier (1935-1940), artistic education at the Academy in Aarschot under the direction of M. Haccuria (1960-1972). Painted landscapes, (peasant) figures, still lifes. Debuted impressionist but soon fell under the spell of expressionism (1964-1971). In 1972 he began to austerity of the forms to finally end up with abstraction. However, figurative elements reappeared in 1973.
