De Vierman Freddy

Freddy De Vierman is a Belgian artist who was born in Antwerp in 1960. He is a visual artist, painter, draftsman and graphic artist. Son of Paul De Vierman. Education at the Academy in Antwerp (1978-1982). Also obtained a master's degree in painting in 2002. Prize M. Macken in 1979 and 1981, prize Looymans in 1982, prize De Keyser in 1987. During his civil service he realized oil paintings and ten wall buildings for the Center for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Antwerp (1984-1985). Was director at the School of Visual Arts in Niel (1989-1991) and teacher of painting and drawing at the Municipal Academy in Antwerp (1983-1991 and 1992-2002). Lived and worked in Sydney/Australia in 1991-1992 and settled there permanently in 2002. Recent individual exhibitions in Belgium in 1999 at the De Zwarte Panter gallery in Antwerp (Au bain-marie), in the S&S gallery in Borgerhout in 2000 (Cronos), in the Artemix gallery in Antwerp in 2005 (Territorial illusions), in the KoenArt Tempel gallery in Watou in 2000, 2001 (Chairs for Silence), 2002 (ARTillerie), 2004 (Out-Back) and 2007 (New Clothes).
