
Bévort John (Jan)
Jan Bévort (John or Johannes Hubertus Hendrikus Bévort) was a Dutch artist born in 1917 in Utrecht and who died in 1996 in Schoorl. He was a painter who specialized in painting with a palette knife. John was a student at the Artibus Academy in Utrecht of Chris Achterberg and G. Nijenhuis. His favorite subjects were marines (genre), cityscapes, landscapes (genre) and still lifes. He also painted Southern European scenes under the pseudonym 'Camprio'. John was a member of the International Organization of Free Art and taught painting to Peter Brouwer. (RKD)
