
Groffier Didier
Didier Groffier was a Belgian artist, born in Liège in 1912 and died in Brussels in 1979. He was a painter and draftsman. His brother is the poet and writer Jean Groffier. Didier trained in evening courses at the Academy. He was a student of Egide Rombaux, Paul Dubois, Matton, V. Rousseau, Aimé Stevens, P. Mathieu, A. Bastien, G. Van Strydonck and J. Delville. Didier Groffier created landscapes, marines and female nude figures. He used a luministic color palette. He also found inspiration in Corsica. He was a member of the Kunstkring in Schaarbeek and of the Group Evolution in Anderlecht. He is mentioned in BAS I and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (Piron, BT)
