Frechkop Leonid

Leonid Frechkop was a Belgian artist born in Moscow/Russia in 1897 and died in 1982 in Brussels. He was a painter, draftsman, printmaker and decorator. Graduated from the Moscow Academy in 1920 and obtained the Prix de Rome. Left Russia in 1922 and settled in Brussels. Realized compositions, figures, nudes, dancers, children and flowers. All his life he explored painting in all directions. He showed total independence from every style and trend. Revolutionary to the core of his heart, he nevertheless stuck to tradition. Work in the Museum in Ixelles, in the Print Room in Brussels. Mentioned in Bas I and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists.
