Haine Désiré
Désiré Haine was a Belgian artist who was born in 1900 in Ixelles and who died in 1990 in Auderghem. He was a painter, graphic artist, watercolorist and (charcoal) draftsman. Education in architecture, drawing and painting, then surveying at the Academies in Ixelles and Brussels. (1916-1917 and 1920-1921). At the age of 50 he took lessons at the Academy in Ixelles under Ch. swyncop. Realized portraits, figures, compositions, landscapes, still lifes, flowers, interiors. Synthesized reality and purified his subjects almost geometrically. Colorful and optimistic color palette. His works breathe serenity, poetry, sometimes symbolism. Also stayed and worked in the Netherlands, Germany, France. He settled in Auderghem in 1947 and became the founder of the landscape school of the Rood Klooster. Co-founder of the Artes Bruxellae Group. Worked with A. Bastien on the restoration of the Panorama of the Yser. Work in the Musée de l'Art Wallon in Liège, among others.
