D’Hanis Luc
Luc D'Hanis is a Belgian artist, born in Hamme in 1953. He is a painter, draftsman, etcher and designer of collages and assemblages. He was educated at the Academy and at the Higher Institute in Antwerp and at the Academy in Sint-Niklaas. He often attaches more importance to the atmosphere and to coincidental relationships between things than to the depicted objects themselves. In his collages, each piece of paper is colored and combined with another to create a real painting. Compositions are built with recovered material, fossils and found objects that exude a certain magic. Luc D'Hanis is mentioned in BAS II and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (Piron)
