Belgische kunstenaar Victor Lefebvre

Lefebre Victor

Victor Lefebre was a Belgian artist born in 1912 and died in 1998. He was a painter, graphic artist and draftsman. He was educated at the "Université du Travail" in Charleroi under the supervision of Léon Van Den Houten (1926-1935). He studied the technique of the old masters in the 1930s. Before the Second World War he leaned on magic realism, after which he fell under the spell of fantasticism and also had a short expressionistic period. He painted still lifes, nudes, compositions with figures, portraits and meticulously finished cityscapes, which reflect Gothic, Baroque and surrealizing hyper-realism. (PIRON)
