Bogaerd Herman

Herman Bogaerd was a Belgian artist, born in Evergem in 1867 and deceased in Laken/Brussels in 1932. He was a painter and writer. He was the eldest son of the poet Karel Bogaerd-Ledeganck. He painted landscapes, views of the river Leie, harbours, and cityscapes. He was a member of the art circle in Laken and chairman of the Union of Local Theatre Associations. He was also active as a poet, novelist and playwright, and contributed to various literary magazines. Herman Bogaerd exhibited, among other places, at the Premier Salon de Noël in Laken in 1912.
