Clayton Inge
Inge Clayton (1942-2010) was an Austrian/British painter, designer, sculptor, and collagist. She was born in Salzburg, Austria, and settled in London in 1961. She held various solo exhibitions in her native Austria and Germany, and also exhibited at the Royal Academy and in many London galleries. Clayton initially worked as an interior architect and jewelry designer in the United Kingdom. From 1976 to 1984, she studied collage techniques with Jack Yates and figure drawing with John Nicholl at the Camden Arts Centre, as well as graphic techniques at St. Albans under Peter Jaques.
