Bisman Paule

Paule Bisman was a Belgian artist who was born in 1897 in Namur and who died in 1973 in Salzinnes. She was a painter and sculptor. Education at the Academy in Namur under the direction of D. Merny and at the Academy in Brussels under the direction of Richir, Van Strydonck and Delville for painting and Dubois and Rousseau for sculpture (1919-1927). Settled in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert in 1930. As a painter she realized landscapes, cityscapes, portraits, still lifes, flowers, domestic scenes and church interiors. As a sculptor designer of nudes, figures, children and portraits. From the press about her sculpture: "P.B. portrays beauty through the human body and ennobles gesture, posture or expression."
