Schilderijen kopen van de Belgische kunstschilder Juul Keppens

Keppens Juul

Jules Keppens, also Juul Keppens was a Belgian artist who was born in 1910 in Lebbeke and who died in 1992 in Dendermonde. He was a painter. Education at the Normal School in Oostakker and at the Academy in Dendermonde under F. Willaert and F. Gogo. Also worked for several months at L. Spanoghe in Vlassenbroek. Found his inspiration mainly in the Flemish landscape, but also painted harbor and Scheldt views with boats, church interiors, flowers. Narrator with color and palette knife. Powerful, expressionistic design. From the press: “J.K. is someone who still has a sense for the simple truth of things and for the quiet beauty of nature. He is still charmed by the reflection of the air in the river, by the mist-shrouded snow landscapes or by the play of the waves on the beach”, (1968) and “His oeuvre bears all the characteristics of the Dendermonde painting school such as rich layers of paint, bright colours, powerful brushstrokes, but clearly leans towards a more expressionistic approach to the subject. His oeuvre is sometimes described as modern impressionism or fantastic impressionism”. (J.P. De Bruyn). Was a professional teacher. Acquired the honorary citizenship of Lebbeke. Mentioned in BAS II and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (piron)
