Van Holsbeeck Albert
Albert Van Holsbeeck was a Belgian artist, born in Brussels in 1877 and died in Etterbeek in 1948. He was a painter, draftsman, graphic artist, illustrator, miniaturist and designer of cartons for carpets. He was educated at the Academies in Antwerp and Brussels. As a painter he realized landscapes, still lifes and portraits. Albert Van Holsbeeck was regarded by Sander Pierron as one of the most skilled woodcarvers of the early 20th century. He was a member of the Société des miniaturistes belges (1933). We can find his work in the Print Room in Brussels. He is mentioned in BAS I and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (piron)
