Heinecke Wim

The Dutch artist Wim Heinecke was born in Rotterdam in 1895 and died in 1978. He painted at an early age as an advertising and decorative painter. In the evening he studied at the Rotterdam Academy of Visual Arts, where he was taught by J.G. Heijberg and David Bautz. He mainly painted scenes from Rotterdam, the water, ships in the harbors, sleepers and sand carts, the flea market on Noordplein, streets in summer or winter. But also the Laurenskerk and the harbors after the bombing of May 1940. He also painted landscapes and still lifes with flowers. (RKD)
