Bos Germaan

Bos Germaan

Germaan Bos (pseudonym of Van Den Bossche Germain) is a Belgian artist born in 1937 in Ronse. He is a painter and printmaker. Education at the Academy in Oudenaarde and at Sint-Lucas in Ghent, where he also studied graphic design. Debuted with landscapes and still lifes, then went on experimenting with surrealism, but returned to his old love: the landscapes of the Oudenaarde-Ronse region, its Flemish Ardennes, and still lifes with a velvety-soft shimmer. From the press: "It is surprising how in this vibrant temperament the landscapes can sometimes lie dreaming in such a caressing, dull light." Settled in Edelare in 1962, then in Elzele. Worked professionally as a geographic draftsman. Mentioned in Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. Source: Paul Piron, The Belgian visual artists from the 19th to the 21st century.
