Schaar Monique

Monique Schaar is a Belgian artist, born in Brussels in 1939. She is a painter, poster designer and illustrator. She studied decorative arts . She uses a naive design and finds her inspiration in the dream, the imagination, the child and everyday scenes. Her works exude poetry and refinement, sometimes with a touch of fine irony. Her work can be found in the Museum of Religious Art in Ostend, among other places. She is mentioned in BAS II and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (piron)
