Bitran Albert

Albert Bitran (Istanbul, Turkey 1931 - 2018 Paris, France) was born into a Sephardic Jewish family in Istanbul, Turkey. After studying at the French Collège Saint Michel, where he earned both a French and Turkish diploma, he was admitted to the Ecole Spéciale d'Architecture in Paris. In 1948, at the age of seventeen, he arrived in Montparnasse, knowing that he wanted to be a painter, not an architect.
