Kunstwerken van de Belgische kunstenaar Calisto Peretti

Peretti Calisto

Calisto Peretti was a Belgian artist who was born in 1937 in Saint-Ghislain and who died in 2015 in Neufvilles. He was a painter, draftsman, printmaker and sculptor. Education at the Academy in Bergen under the direction of G. Camus (1956-1959). Painter of great visionary frescoes. The man and the body are key in his works, but they are always related to one's (emergency) fate, nature, the elements, a tree, the sky, the water or the rock. His works are symbolic, yet very powerful and sometimes even shocking. Member of the Maka Group (1973), co-founder of the Art Cru Group (1977). From 1959 to 1984 he was the artistic director of the National Association for the Prevention of Accidents at Work, and designed almost a thousand posters for this. Work in the Museums in Charleroi, Mons. Mentioned in BAS II and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. Source: PIRON.
