Arden Henri
Arden, Henri (Antwerp, 1858–Brussels, 1917) • Painter, watercolorist. Trained at the Academy in Antwerp. Painted countless coastal views of the North Sea and landscapes from France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. His works appear optimistic, partly due to the bright color palette he employed. A retrospective of his work was organized by his second wife at the Galerie d'Art on Rue Royale in Brussels in 1921. Works include the Museum in Mons. Mentioned in the National Biography of the Royal Academy of Belgium, volume 29. Mentioned in Bas 1 and Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists. (Piron)
