Ronner-Knip Henriëtte

Henriëtte Ronner-Knip was born in 1821 in the Netherlands and died in 1909 in Belgium. She was a Dutch-Belgian artist in the romantic style who is best known for her paintings of animals, especially cats. She made her first painting at the age of 15. She first mainly painted landscapes with pieces of animals, then she painted dogs and afterwards she ended with the representation of cats.
