Goezu André

André Goezu is a Belgian artist who was born in Antwerp in 1939. He is a painter, printmaker and illustrator. Education at the Academy and the Higher Institute in Antwerp under the direction of A. Marstboom and R. De Coninck (1958-1963). Creates a world of dream and poetic imagination. His performances consist of fragments of various elements that, through their combination, acquire a magical appearance. From the press: "A.G. is first and foremost a sensitive painter who is absorbed in a refined atmosphere. In his work he resides between dream and reality, but it is the dream that drowns out everything. In his art everything remains calm and minor. One can enter his world only if one is inclined and able to reflect, and A.G. follows the trail of magical realism in a very personal way. He still maintains a mysterious yet poetic atmosphere. " (1966). Often stays in Paris but never forgot Antwerp. Prize for Engraving Art of the Province of Antwerp and laureate of the triennial Prize for Painting of the Province of Antwerp in 1973.
