Munnik Henk

Andries Hendrik (Henk) Munnik, born in 1912 and died in 1997, was a Dutch painter, draftsman and bookbinding designer. He worked in The Hague from 1937 to 1997. He studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague together with Cees Bolding, Arend Hendriks and Henk Meyer (1884-1970). Henk Munnik was an allround artist. For example, he painted figuratively - still lifes, nudes, portraits and village scenes - but from the end of the 1960s he also made abstract works. He also produced fabric designs and illustrations for books for example. In 1937, in order from producer Kruseman, he designed the cover of the book "Met Hr. Ms De Ruyter to the Dutch East Indies".
