Van Den Driessche Midil
Marie-Odile (known as Midil) Van Den Driessche is a Belgian artist, born in Oudenaarde in 1947. She is a painter, watercolourist, pastellist and gouachi artist. She is the daughter of Ernest Van Den Driessche. She is self-taught and uses a naive design. Her works appear soft, intimate and poetic. She uses a cheerful and fresh colour palette. From the press: 'Midil conjures up the world for us as we keep it in our oldest memory: a world of childlike joy and delightful fantasy, when fairy tales were still credible and the heart had not yet lost its beautiful simplicity.' She exhibited in Waregem in 1971, among other places. She is mentioned in Living art in South-East Flanders and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (Piron)
