Kunstwerken van de Belgische kunstenaar Guy Vandenbranden kopen

Vandenbranden Guy

Guy Vandenbranden was a Belgian painter, graphic artist and object designer, born in Ixelles/Brussels in 1926 and died in Antwerp in 2014. After his studies in Mechelen he settled in Antwerp. From the 1950s he was one of the great promoters of geometric abstraction in Belgium. He used a strict, geometric form language. From the press: 'His style is characterized by a clarity in the image, by a purity of color and the monumental nature of the construction. He makes use of geometric shapes. It is an art freed from the superfluous and superfluous. He is always looking for a more absolute image, which is never completed. His work radiates dynamism and strength, joy and purity,' (PT) and 'In his works we can recognize a certain influence of Vasarely's constructive work, but soon his work became more chromatically complex and by introducing false perspectives it acquired a certain space effect. Although this spatiality remained, in the current evolution his work has an almost pure interest in the geometric interplay between the color planes themselves.' (W. Van Den Bussche, 1993). He was co-founder of the groups Art Abstrait, Formes, Art Construit, New Flemish School and of the International Study Center for Constructive Art. His work can be found in the museums in Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent, Ostend and Liège. He is mentioned in BAS I and Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists. (piron)
