Braem Renaat
Renaat Braem is a Belgian artist born in 1910 in Antwerp and died in 2001 in Essen. He was an architect, painter, draftsman and sculptor. Educated at the Academy and the Higher Institute in Antwerp. Internship with Le Corbusier (1936-1937). Designed, among other things, the residential area on the Kiel, the Arena residential area in Deurne, the Modelwijk on the Heizel in Brussels and the Sint-Maartensdal district in Leuven. As a painter, among other things, the mural of the VUB rectorate is by his hand. From 1947 teacher and from 1962 to 1963 also director of the Higher Institute in Antwerp.
