Schilderijen kopen van de Oostendse kunstenaar Carlo de Brouckère

de Brouckère Carlo

Carlo De Brouckère was a Belgian artist, born in Roeselare in 1920 and died in Ostend in 1985. He was a painter and draftsman. He studied at the Maritime School in Ostend and experienced World War I as a sailor on tankers and freight ships. A self-taught visual artist, he initially debuted with art weaving but later opted for painting. He leaned towards surrealism, focusing on themes such as women, the sea, imaginative combinations of humans and animals, and strange creatures, all infused with a sense of humor and poetry. From the press: "C.D.B. developed a playful and sensual style in his paintings and drawings." He was part of the group of artists at the Kasteel Groenhove studio in Torhout (1964-1968). His works can be found in the museum in Ostend. He is listed in the Lexicon of West Flemish Visual Artists III and "Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists" (Piron).
