Désiron Louise

Louise Désiron was a Belgian artist, born in Tihange in 1900 and died in Liège in 1988. She was a painter and engraver. She was a student of E. Carpentier and Fr. Maréchal at the Royal Academy of Liège, where she studied painting, drawing and graphics. She mainly painted Ardennes landscapes, harbor views (Antwerp) and flowers. She painted her landscapes with an unprecedented poetry that expressed the love for vast horizons, her somewhat dark still lifes reveal her constructive side and her etchings show her sense of synthesis. From 1923 she was a member of the Cercle des Beaux-Arts in Liège. She exhibited at this Circle from 1924 to 1973. There she also met her husband Nicolas Pitot.
