Tekeningen kopen van de Belgische kunstenaar Irénée Duriez

Duriez Irénée

Irénée Duriez is a Belgian artist who was born in 1950 in Torhout. He is a sculptor, bronze caster and draftsman. Training as a free student at the Academy in Bruges under W. Van Aerden, private lessons under Y. Rhayé. Founded his own bronze foundry in 1978 and established himself as a professional sculptor in 1985. Finds his inspiration in the female nude. Debuted in wood and stone, but from around 1980 bronze and the lost wax technique are definitely his preference. Initially he modeled robust bodies that radiated life force and expressed formal beauty. More elegance comes to the fore in his later and current work and special care is given to the face, hands and feet. From the press: "The images of I.D. incarnate a wide range of ways of approaching the essence of woman: sensuality, landscape of glorious forms, nascent life, robust voluptuousness, fertility, graceful whole of modules, rhythm, introspection' and 'The overwhelming robustness of yesteryear has in a quiet and subtle way replaced by an aesthetic elegance without sacrificing any of the sensual. His images are classically modern, nude and elegant. Their nudity is a lofty form of aesthetic. The bodies of his bronze women and young girls are alive.' (H. Brutin) works in the collections of the municipalities of Blankenberge, Roeselare, Bredene, Kruibeke, Waremme and Ichtegem and in many private collections at home and abroad. Working in Ichtegem. Art books: Irénée Duriez by Hugo Brutin (2000), Irénée Duriez by Hugo Brutin (2005). Mentioned in the Lexicon of West Flemish visual artists II (1993), Artists and galleries 1998. (Piron)
