artiste français André Missant, Franse kunstenaar

Missant André

André Missant was a French artist born in 1908 in Cross and who died in Roubaix in 1977. After studying at a school in Dottenijs in Belgium, he attended the Roubaix School of Fine Arts where he won many prizes (painting, sculpture and drawing). He was a very self-centered person with a career without a commercial spirit, an enemy of any compromise nor concession, with a complete disdain for material unforeseen events. His work is considerably multifaceted and includes all expression techniques of the visual arts. Many works of religious inspiration have classified him as an essentially mystical painter. In reality, it was first and foremost a creator, leaving behind an extremely diverse work that was sometimes derived from his own inner vision.
