Minnebo Hubert
Hubert Minnebo is a Belgian artist, born in Bruges in 1940. He is a sculptor, jewelery designer, draftsman and graphic artist. He followed his education at the Academy in Ostend under the direction of G. Sorel, R. Servais and R. Vanden Berghe. He received further training at the Grande Chaumière in Paris and with O. Kokoschka in Salzburg. He studied plastic arts at the National Normal School in Ghent, where he was supervised by R. Cools, W. Van Aerden and O. Landuyt. In the beginning he worked as an aluchromist, painter of expressionist works and ceramist. Around 1967 he started sculpting. Originally he worked in metal and aluminum, but he quickly switched to bronze and the lost wax technique. His stylized works exude symbolism and poetry.
