Vereecken Achille
Achille Vereecken was a Belgian artist who was born in Ghent in 1899 and who died there in 1933. He was a painter, draftsman and above all watercolourist. Limited training at the Academy in Ghent under J. Delvin. Architecture led by O. Van De Voorde. Was a professional architectural draftsman, associated with the Board of Bridges and Roads in Ghent. As an artist almost completely self-taught. Realized figures, interiors, landscapes and especially Ghent city corners. Formed a close artist group together with Callewaert, Lorein, Cornel and De Vuyst. His oeuvre is not very extensive and he exhibited only very rarely.
