Lammers Noella
Noëlla Lammers was a Belgian painter, born in La Hestre in 1915 and deceased in 1990. She studied at the Academies in Brussels and Sint-Jans-Molenbeek. She created female figures, nudes, flowers and compositions. Her works are often imbued with an atmosphere of dream and mystery, on the boundary between surrealism and reality. She enjoyed working on golden backgrounds. She exhibited, among others, with Les Arts en Europe in Brussels in 1967. The press wrote about her work: “In her many nudes she paints perfect bodies in the full bloom of emerging life. These nudes are neither sensual nor provocative, but introduce us to the eternal Eve in a wondrous dreamlike situation, fully enjoying what nature has to offer.” According to an unverified source, she may have died in 2005. She is listed in BAS I and Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists. (Piron)
