Schilderijen kopen van de Belgische schilderes Lucie Jacquart

Jacquart Lucie

Lucie Jacquart was a Belgian painter, born in Etterbeek in 1882 and died in Ghent in 1956. She was educated at the Academy in Ghent as a student of P. Hoste. Her oeuvre consists of still lifes with flowers and fruits and interiors. From the press: “L.J. is not a 'many painter'. Her production is very limited because she lets each painting mature in her mind before realizing it. Hence, however, the firmness, the equilibrium of her precious creations” and “Twenty times may L.J. painted her small breakfast table, with each canvas one gets the impression of standing in front of the set table. She is, together with Maurice Dupuis, the best of our (Ghent) intimates.” (G.V.S.) She was vice-chairwoman of the women's section of the Cercle Artistique et Littéraire in Ghent, and a member of the jury of the three-yearly Salons of Belgium. She remained unmarried. Lucie Jacquart participated in the Belgian salons from 1909 to 1954. Retrospective was held in 1957 and 1972 at the Vyncke-Van Eyck gallery in Ghent. We can find her work in the museums in Brussels, Ghent and Tournai. She is mentioned in BAS I and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (Piron)
