Bonaugure Karel
Karel Bonaugure was a Belgian artist, born in Mechelen in 1880 and died in Mechelen in 1947. He was a figurative sculptor. He followed the jewelery modeling course from 1899-1900, and the sculpture course from 1900-1901 at the Academy in Mechelen. This under the supervision of B. Tuerlinckx and J. Willems. He designed busts, portraits and characteristic heads. He was a teacher at the Academy in Mechelen from 1915 to 1946. He participated, among other things, in the IVth Salon de Printemps in Brussels in 1912, in the Salon Triennale in Brussels in 1941 (Sitting woman, plaster), took part in the Second December Salon of the National Association of Painters and Sculptors of Belgium in Brussels in 1939 and at the 47th Salon of the Circle of Art and Knowledge in Ghent in 1946.
