Tonnard Philippe

Philippe Tonnard is a Belgian artist, born in Ghent in 1959. He is a painter, draftsman, screen printer, photographer, object designer (including multiples), and conceptual artist.

He studied at the Municipal Secondary Art Institute in Ghent under the guidance of D. Matthys.

From the press (1996): “The geometric and the chaotic are confronted in P.T.’s most recent paintings. The backgrounds are delicate clouds of color. Chance determines how they blend. Order and chaos create a harmony that symbolizes the artist’s philosophy of life.”

He is listed in BAS II and Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists (Piron).
