
De Vadder Franz
Franz de De Vadder was a Belgian artist who was born in Bruges in 1862 and who died in Antwerp in 1935. He was a painter, etcher, but above all watercolourist. Pupil of Ch. Verlat and J. Van Luppen. Realized landscapes, seascapes. “F.D.V. excelled for his sense of tonalities, so that his works form a harmonious whole. He was a master at creating atmosphere, both in his landscapes and in his navies.” (Lexicon v) Worked for 32 years in Sint-Amands on the Scheldt. Work in the Museums in Brussels and Antwerp.
