Bosmans Lode

Lode Bosmans was a Belgian artist who was born in Herenthout in 1925 and who passed away in 2017 in Mortsel, 2017. He was a painter and restorer. Training at the Academy and the Higher Institute in Antwerp. Painted figures, children, still lifes, seascapes and especially (Kempen) landscapes, vibrant in color and light. Found his inspiration mainly in the countryside. Debuted post-expressionistic and later evolved into mystical realism. Also carried out monumental work for the Expo 58 in Brussels and painted in Germany, among other things, a fresco, The Last Supper, and a Stations of the Cross for a church in Waldkappel. Participated in, among other things, the exhibition "Kempen artists" in Hoogstraten in 1967. Was a teacher at the Royal Atheneum in Berchem/Antwerp.
