Van Malder Virgile
Virgile Van Malder was a Belgian painter, born in Moerbeke-Waas in 1929 and passed away in Sint-Martens-Latem in 2013. He primarily created landscapes, figures, still lifes, and floral compositions. In 1956, he was selected for the Provincial Prize for Painting of East Flanders. He settled in Sint-Martens-Latem, where he further developed his artistic career. His work was awarded honorary diplomas and medals at exhibitions both in Belgium and abroad. Virgile Van Malder is listed in the Lexicon of East Flemish Painters and Sculptors 1700–1940 (Daniël Van Ryssel, 2008) and in Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists. (Piron)
