Wielmaecker Raoul
Raoul Wielmaecker was a Belgian artist, born in 1887 and died in 1973. He was a watercolorist and painter. He created landscapes and farms and used a realistic design with an impressionistic color palette. Around 1930 he worked in Brussels. The work “Mosque courtyard with characters in Morocco” (an oil on canvas) was auctioned in 2007 by the Zaal Vanderkindere in Brussels. A work was also auctioned in Germany entitled “Pottala in Lhasa”, also an oil on canvas. It is listed as BAS I and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (Piron)
