Rambo Jules

Jules Rambo was a Belgian artist born in Limal in 1896 and died in 1974 in Schaerbeek/Brussels. He was a painter and draftsman. Realized figures, nudes, portraits, interiors, landscapes, forest, river and harbor views. Powerful brush and vivid post-impressionist color palette. Was good friends with the sculptor and watercolorist Charles Stepman. Exhibited a.o. in the Rubens gallery in Brussels in 1956 together with Gilbert Noyer. Work auctioned by the G. Giroux gallery in Brussels in 1945, 1947 and 1950. In the Horta Hall in Brussels, a whole series of his oil paintings were auctioned in 2003, including Gemijmer (1925), Mandolin player, Portrait of a girl, The caravan. (1931), The farm with the red roof (1925), Snow landscape, Church interior, Interior and three Flower compositions. Lived from 1924 to 1940 in the Jules Besmestraat in Koekelberg/Brussels.
