Crommelynck Gustaaf
Gustaaf Crommelynck (also written Gustave Crommelinck) was a Belgian artist who was born in Ghent in 1883 and who died there in 1961. He was a painter, draftsman, watercolorist and pastelist. He was educated at the Academy in Ghent under the direction of L. Tytgadt, J. Van Biesbroek Sr., and especially J. Delvin. He found his inspiration mainly in mood images that testify to his love for nature, but he also painted interiors, (self) portraits and still lifes. His works breathe feeling, silence, tranquility and poetry. He took part in the Salons in Ghent, among other things. We can find his work in the Museums in Ghent and Tournai, among other places.
