Slootmaeckers jos

Jos Slootmaeckers was a Belgian artist, born in Niel in 1926 and died in Reet in 1995. He was a painter, draftsman, and pastellist. He studied at the Academy in Antwerp under the tutelage of Albert de Roover. He created philosophical-religious compositions and still lifes. He also painted landscapes, characterized by a distinctive movement of color and form. Jos Slootmaeckers was active in Aartselaar (1983). He is listed in BAS II and Two Centuries of Signatures of Belgian Artists. (Piron)
